'Wealthy Norwich made them foul, Today it treats them better'
In the 19th and 20th centuries this reach of the river Wensum used to be
the busy port of Norwich. Today the docks and factories have gone and you
can see how new development seeks to combine business and leisure.
Civic action has achieved the riverside walk to the right of the picture. On the
left, ancient buildings have been adapted to form the education centre
known as Wensum Lodge.
One or two leisure craft are to be seen on the
water. We could make room for more.
